Illinois Valley Fire District and Oregon Dept. of Forestry responded to the 4:49 p.m. alarm behind the maintenance shop. Units were on scene until nearly 8:30. The extremely hot-burning fire, fanned by strong, horizontal wind, also ignited an old chip trailer, which was damaged. The pile was destined for the R&R boiler, and a new location is planned for such material. Ashes blown from a wet area are blamed for the fire. (Photos by Illinois Valley News)
