Wednesday, June 25

*Terrance M. Lankford, 43, of Kerby, was lodged in Josephine County Jail on a charge of violation of a restraining order.

*In rural Cave Junction a woman reported that her ex-husband, angry regarding custody issues, continues to telephone to harass her.

*Two counterfeit $100 bills turned up in business deposits, said a Cave Junction bank manager. The forgeries were turned over to the U.S. Secret Service.

*Eugene Kim Keith, 18, was cited on a charge of vehicular assault (fourth-degree assault) following an off-road accident on a power line road off Kerby Mainline.

Thursday, June 26

*An outbuilding at a Selma residence was reported blazing at 5:42 a.m. A man, described as “a transient,” was observed leaving the area wearing a trash bag and a hat.

*Persons operating dirt bikes on Hathaway Drive were complained about at 9:46 a.m.

*At Sam Brown Campground in Grants Pass a person was warned for leaving young children alone in a vehicle.

*On Lakeshore Drive a man said that a former tenant had returned to the property and refused to leave. It was said that that man flooded a residence while he was there.

*Three young people were observed entering a vacant residence on N. Junction Avenue at 10:15 p.m. It was said that the youths had been sleeping there.

*On N. Old Stage Road a woman was advised of civil options for removing her boyfriend from her residence after he kicked in the front door.

*Joey Mitchell Villarreal, 25, was cited for lack of a front license plate on Illinois River Road at 5:41 p.m.

*Some sort of disturbance involving broken glass was reported in the 400 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 8:36 p.m.

*A continuing problem with nuts in vehicles racing on Hays Cut-Off was reported at 10:42 p.m.

*At 11:04 p.m., after it was reported that a female person had been assaulted in the 400 block of S. Redwood Hwy., a woman described as extremely intoxicated said that someone had pushed their way into her motel room. But no one else was located .

Friday, June 27

*Someone attempted to set off fireworks in his mailbox, said a Blas Cerdena Drive resident. While the device did not explode, he said, some of his mail was burnt.

*A “Stop” sign was reported down on O’Brien Road at Waldo Road. JoCo Public Works was notified.

*On W. Watkins Street a man said that he drew his gun when “his life was threatened” by a man “wearing” a 6-inch knife. The incident might be on video surveillance tape.

Saturday, June 28

*After a drink was thrown (no direction or target listed) in a Cave Junction bar, some sort of altercation ensued. All parties left before deputy arrival.

*American Medical Response transported a 61-year-old man from Selma to Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass with a broken arm, which he said was the result of an assault.

*Dozens of people were contacted at a gathering out Eight Dollar Mountain Road at 8:11 p.m., and warned of a nearby wildland fire. Approximately half those in attendance left, while the rest were advised to contact their next of kin to let them know where they are. It was unknown how much smoke in the area was actually from the party.

Sunday, June 29

*Following a report of an altercation on N. Hussey Avenue at Stevenson Street, a man was found to have abrasions, but denied having been in a fight. However, Jeremy Justin Beck, 28, was cited on a warrant charging failure to appear (FTA) on an original charge of third-degree theft.

*A deputy conducted a bar check in Downtown Cave Junction at 10:58 p.m..

Monday, June 30

*On N. Junction Avenue a continuing problem with youths trespassing at a vacant house was reported. The caller stated that when they asked a young girl trespassing on their property to leave, she returned with a man wielding a baseball bat. It was thought there could be problems.

*Vandalism of a parked vehicle at Lake Selmac was reported at 4:34 p.m.

*On Burch Drive, a caller reported seeing a horse and female rider go by, and some 40 minutes later the horse returned alone. Asked if he had anything to say, the horse replied, “Neigh.”

*A caller stated that his daughter was attacked by a pit-bull dog and fell from her steed. Horse and rider were both said to be OK, and JoCo Animal Control was to be notified of a dangerous dog.

*Around $40 worth of beer was stolen and some $960 damage was reported to have occurred during three consecutive nights at King’s Chinese Cuisine in Cave Junction.

*On N. Junction Avenue a caller stated that he would not return backpacks, found in a vacant house, to two juvenile persons who showed up to retrieve them.

*Scott Thomas Armijo, 17, was cited on a charge of careless driving on N. Junction Avenue at 9:20 p.m.

*Randy Lee Pratt Jr., 16, was cited on a charge of speeding (73 mph in a 55 mph zone) at milepost 27 on Redwood Hwy. at 9:24 p.m.

*Galen Eli Aller, 60, was cited on a charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUII) in the 300 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 10:34 p.m.

*Michael Anthony Webbe, 34, was cited on charges of DUII and driving with a suspended license in the 700 block of Caves Hwy. at 11:17 p.m.

Tuesday, July 1

*Four or five people were said to be fighting in Kerby at 1:04 a.m., but they left prior to a deputy’s arrival.

*Apprehended at “Tazer point” in a Kerby neighborhood at 1:18 a.m., Victor Gavin Clay, 23, was cited on a charge of second-degree disorderly conduct.

*Windows were reported broken out of a rental vehicle in the 100 block of N. Redwood Hwy.

*A boy, 4, was reported missing in O’Brien after he left the home of his care-taker and hid himself in his own house next door. He was found under a bed.

*Callers said that a man who’d been causing a disturbance in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. was chased away by people with baseball bats. The man was to be “trespassed” from the home.

*On Lone Mountain Road a father phoned to say that he was tired of unknown subjects buying alcohol for his 13-year-old daughter.

*Following a motor vehicle accident on Reeves Creek Road, the two occupants were involved in a scuffle, it was reported.

Wednesday, July 2

*Following a reported altercation on Crooks Creek Road, Herbert K. Bright, 53, was cited on a warrant charging FTA on an original charge of DUII.

*A Canadian motorcyclist phoned from O’Brien to report the loss of a small bag containing ID, passport, bank cards and cash.

*On Barlow Road a man said that his adult son continues to break into his home, eat his food and have transients as guests. A deputy arrived to discover the 28-year-old and another person watching TV. The TV was “terminated,” and the pair escorted from the premises with a warning against trespassing.

*A woman requested a welfare check for her ex-husband, a Cave Junction resident who was said to be “highly violent and hostile” due to a brain injury. The caller stated that the man believes he is a “Warrior for God,” and that he has been directed to kill “dirtbags,” (i.e. “anyone that does not believe the way he does.”)

*An 11-year-old boy was warned for unlawfully operating an off-road vehicle on Caves Hwy. at Laurel Road at 6:24 p.m. His grandparents were contacted, and he walked the motorcycle home to a location on Takilma Road.
