Authors willing to donate all or a portion of the sale of their works can participate at the Josephine Community Libraries Inc. (JCLI) booth at the Fantastic Flea Market on Saturday, Aug. 2.
The annual sale is held on the Grants Pass Daily Courier parking lot at Seventh and J streets in Grants Pass. It’s anticipated that more than 50 nonprofits will participate. Among them is JCLI, a nongovernmental nonprofit organization dedicated to getting a library open to all county residents.
The county-run public library system has been closed for more than a year.
The Fantastic Flea Market is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and booths must be set up prior to the opening. Authors who wish to sign autographs or meet members of the public are welcome to be a part of the booth, although space is limited, and those who would like to do so are asked to make their interest known as soon as they can.
Authors also are welcome to bring their books to the booth prior to the opening at 8 a.m. and pick up any unsold materials at 2 p.m. Those who would like to arrange to get booth materials to JCLI ahead of time can e-mail librarypatricia@gmail.com. Those who plan to participate are asked to e-mail information about themselves and their work so that volunteers working at the booth and the public can be made aware of who to expect.

Because the purpose of the event is to raise money for nonprofits, JCLI cannot accept participants who don’t intend to contribute at least a portion of their sales.
