People say that there’s no free lunch, but Three Rivers School District (TRSD) is changing that for a few weeks.

The Summer Food Service Program is providing free meals at the following locations to all children within TRSD boundaries.

Evergreen Elementary School, Illinois Valley High School and Lorna Byrne Middle School are serving breakfast at 8 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays through Aug. 7. Free lunch will begin at 11:30 at Evergreen Elementary, noon at Lorna Byrne, and 12:15 p.m. at the high school.

Free, nutritious snacks also are being served weekdays through Aug. 22 at the Boys & Girls Club at Evergreen at 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

TRSD’s Summer Food Program helps children get the nutrition they need to learn, play and grow throughout the summer months, according to an announcement.
